The babies (Elsie and Quentin) made the welcome home posters for Uncle Todd. They were both so excited to go to the airport to pick him up.

The airport was so much fun, balloons and riding on Todd's suit case what could beat that?

Welcome to Fall

Every fall we head up a canyon to take some fall pictures. This year we went up Payson Canyon. The kids did great on the long drive and had fun walking around the upper Payson lake.

Our house, it was a long time in the process of becoming ours. It was a lot of work but it is beautiful now and we love it.

The family room was the biggest project, who puts a wetbar in a family room that is right next to the kitchen? Silly huh! Family room before...

It was along process put it all turned out great. I really enjoyed painting.

We had a lot of help along the way. There is NO way we could have done it without my dad, the most handy man you'll ever meet. He can fix ANYTHING!

Many meals were had on the floor inbetween painting. Our kids were so great through it all, we started working on the house only a week after Max was born.

Max couldn't pass up the chance to help too. The front carrier was a life saver when I wasn't painting with him on my lap.

Well now that things have calmed down a bit here I thought I should post my birth story.
2 Days before Max is born About 30 minute after Max is born.

So it's Wednesday night August 3, Shawn takes off work work around 1am. I had had many nights of contractons and then nothing so when my water broke at 3:09am I knew he was on his way but no contractions. I called Shawn up and asked him if he could come home cause my water broke, he asked if I was sure I told him YES!!! Any of you ladies out there that have had a baby you KNOW when your water breaks. So he rushed home as I moved the bags to the front door and wondered around wondering if there was anything else we would need for the hospital stay, mind you I wasn't having any contractions at this time. Finally around 3:30am when Shawn got home I started having them, one then two then into the car for the hospital. This was my second baby so I totally had things under control, I wanted a natural delivery just like the last time. I walked through the contractions and I even walked into the hospital and to labor and delivery, checking in around 4:00am. They got me into the first room where I changed, I didn't want to be on the bed so I walked around , the contractions were SOOO intense I wasn't sure I could handle it. Shawn talked me through them as I walked around the room telling him "I can't do this Shawn I can't do this" crying a bit because I honestly didn't think I could do it. Things weren't happening like the last time and that freaked me out a bit. The nurse that checked me in wanted to know if I wanted drugs, I told her no then with Shawn holding me up I felt the need to push so I told the midwife and she put me on the bed to check me out, "She's a 9, tell them we're coming" next thing I know they're rushing me down the hall to delivery. Oh I should mention this was at like 4:14am and little Max joined our family at 4:28am, August 3, 2011 weighing in at 8 lbs 5 oz and 20.5 inches long. Shawn was able to cut the cord (unlike with Elsie where the Dr. did it) I got to hold Max right away and thanked him for coming so fast. I was up walking to the bathroom minutes after he was born. Other then a bit of discomfort I didn't feel like I had just had a baby only hours after he was born. Natural childbirth is the way to go people seriously! Max was awesome too, he was eating before I went to recovery, he was so alert and interested in everything going on around him, just PERFECT.

Max is so beautiful and full of love. Elsie is thrilled to be a big sister and wants EVERYONE to know that that is her little brother. She loves to hold him and read to him, and is so helpful. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful little famliy!

Wow time goes by so fast. My Elsie girl turned two just over a week ago. We had a blast. Build a bear in the morning with a ride on tracks to lunch. Then a princess party in the afternoon with the family. She had a great time.

Been a while

Well let's see a lot has happend since my last post.

Shawn and I are both in school, just working hard to get things done. We have moved into my parents house while we are on the hunt for a house. Wish us luck!

Quentin and Natalie are also living with my parents so it's a full house. But the little ones love hanging out together and do pretty much everything the other one does.

Elsie loved going into the garden this summer and picking the tomatoes and strawberries, they taste the best freshly picked and when she would have too many to eat, she would share with me. Thoughtful little girl.

She is a funny girl always in a pose.

If the kids are missing this is where we would find them, reading eachothers books and hanging out. They love books and I love that!

Elsie is such a happy baby and such a joy to be around.

She has also be come quit the basketball player.

She loves to be like Quen, he started this and she does it all the time.

Elsie had a pretty good fall while walking on the sidewalk, poor little face.

She loves dogs, especially ones that will let her ly on them like Ali and maggie pretty sure they don't have much of a choice, Ali is too old to move and maggie has grown up with babies.

Elsie thought it was the coolest thing to drop leaves into the stream below.

Starting her out young with the longboarding, She wont stand on it yet but she'll soon be doing the "U" run with me :)

The cold weather came for a visit and we were ready. Elsie loves hats and thought that the gloves were the coolest thing, "socks" on her hands.

Pumpkin carving was so much fun this year. Elsie jumped right in and cleaned out her pumpkin, she tried to eat the seeds, yuck!

Elsie even helped my carve out the face on her pumpkin, she was so interested in it and loves pumpkins.

Trunk or Treat at the Loosle's ward. The babies loved dressing up and had so much fun. Elsie is the cutest monkey ever and i don't think you'll find a cuter cowboy.

Elsie just wanted to eat the candy as she collected it, finally get the idea what we are just getting more and more and then we'll eat it. Her favorite was the reeses peanut butter cups.

The donuts were very yummy Elsie didn't want to eat the little pieces that i broke off she wanted the whole thing.

Trunk or Treat at our ward, Elsie just wanted to color the whole night. The weather wasn't very nice so we did the Truck or Treat inside.

I can't believe my baby girl is a year old. Time goes by so fast when you are so happy. I have had the BEST year with my little Elsie. She is such a joy in my life and i LOVE waking up every morning knowing that I get to hangout with her all day. Being a mom has been the best job in the world, I love teaching her new things and watching her learn, I love he bright smile first thing in the morning when I get her out of her crib, I love the tight hug she gives me when she wants nothing more then for me to hold her. I love her little munchkin voice, she is the little chatter box. I love the relationship she has with her dad, she misses him when he's gone and crawls to the back door and says "da". She is so full of love and brings so so much joy into our lives. I know I'm late putting this up since her Birthday is April 3 but

Elsie has decided to boycott sleep the last few days and Shawn has today off so he said he would help out with Elsie. I fell back to sleep early this morning when Shawn went in to get her and when I woke up this is what I found. (Sorry the picture is fuzzy I didn't want the flash to wake them)

I have no idea how he got her to sleep, I guess there's just something about sleeping on dad that's way more comfortable them sleeping on mom.

Every morning I get up and do wii yoga, Elsie usually will sit with her toys and laugh when I do some of the more tricky moves, yesterday while I was getting ready to do my yoga I found Elsie had decided she wanted to try it out, it was just too cute!

I think she did very well :-)

The New Year

Well with a new year just getting started i have found that i am really behind in updating what has been going on. Fall has come and gone as well as the start to this dreadfully long winter, Christmas season and the new year.

Elsie is now 9 months if you can believe it, i sure can't. She is getting so grown up.

She loves giving hugs, especially to her cousin Quentin even when he doesn't want a hug.

She loves copying me and Shawn, learning new things and although she still refuses to crawl she somehow moves about the house with ease.

She loves splashing in the bath, especially if she can get me soaked in the process.

She loves getting into anything and everything that she isn't supposed to. So when the house is silent I KNOW that little munchkin has found something she doens't want me to know she has.
She is quite the chatter box but if she doesn't want everyone to hear what she has to say she'll whisper so only you can hear her.

She loves looking out the window for the dog that is barking next door, she even tries to get his attention by barking... Very funny.

She loves to make eveyone around he laugh, especially at church when you aren't supposed to laugh.
She now sleeps in her very own room, I had a harder time with this then she did. But we have all settled into a good routine and everyone is happy.

Elsie is an around happy, joyful, beautiful baby girl that makes my world exciting!
We now have the internet at our house so i'll try and keep this updated better.

My last blog was from july... wow time for a quick update.
Shawn and I are back in school and keeping very busy. Elsie is growing up fast and learning so much, she now sits all on her own and rolls all over the house, she is starting to like food, sweet potatoes being her favorite so far.
These pictures went on backwards so maybe start at the end and work your way up for it to make more sense.
I got a new washer and drier :) very exciting.

I have a saturday class that is from 8am to 1pm, I have a hard time leaving Elsie and one day she cuddled and fell asleep before i left i LOVED it.

Todd's 19th birthday. He also got his call and will be serving his mission in New York New York North mission he leaves Dec. 2 we are all very excited for him.

We went to cedar city for my friend Gordo's mission talk he is now is South Africa and will be serving in Uganda.

We thought we'd start out small, Elsie wasn't sure why we thought it was so much fun to sit in water outside... But by the end she loved it.

Elsie loves hiking, especially if she can sit back and relax while dad does all the work.

She didn't like this part, mostly cause she was getting sleepy.

... So Elsie got to sleep and slept the rest of the way down. Thanks Mi mi and poppy for the awesome backpack (Shawn got it for his birthday last year when Elsie was still "wiggly" and had 4 months before we got to meet her, way to go planning ahead )

4th of July

We are so lucky to live in a country where we have our freedom! It seems that some take advantage of this freedom we all enjoy lets all hope they don't take it away from us!!!

We had a wonderful 4th starting out early with a ward breakfast then haning out with the family. We did lots of walking and i'm so glad Elsie has learned to sit back and enjoy the ride.

Shawn bought Elsie a glowing flower, she loved it. She reached out and grabbed it and as you can see thought it was super yummy!

My red white and blue baby, just chillin. As long as she's got that thumb she's pretty much happy anywhere.

Red white and blue family, yay a fun day at the park! By far one of the BEST 4th of July's i can ever remember. Elsie made it a million times more exciting. We are so lucky to have her to make our happy couple a Happy FAMILY :)

Sorry for the lack of keeping this blog up to date... busy life of having a wiggly baby. Elsie is growing up so fast i can hardly keep up. Friday she turned 12 weeks and will soon be celebrating her 3 month birthday, oh how time flies. It seems like it took forever for her to get here and now that she's here i can't keep up with the days.

Shawn blessed our little Elsie, we had a lot of friends and family there and thank everyone for coming. It was a beautiful blessing and we are so lucky for all the love and support from everyone. Elsie was born April 3, 2009 at 10:25am. Weighing in at 8 lbs 3 oz and 20 1/2 inches. She was in a rush to get into this world and living up to her nick name "wiggly" always moving.

A Happy Valentines Day!

Shawn and I had a wonderful Valentines day. We started out by going to the Bountiful temple, we haven't been there since we got married, is there a romantic place then the place you were married? It was a beautiful day. After our session we stopped and got some chocolate dipped strawberries and enjoyed those on our way to our romantic dinner at Lone Star followed by renting a movie and spending an evening together. It is so nice to live close to so many temples and that Shawn and I have time to attend. Hope all had a great Valentines day and that you were able to spend it with your sweetie as i was so lucky to/

Our little Wiggly is coming right along, I am now 32 weeks and right on schedule. Shawn and I have been working on getting the babies room all ready. We purchased a rather large dresser that we are getting ready to paint, as well as making wall decortations and curtains. So far it's all turning out exactly how I want it. I think up the ideas and Shawn puts it together, we are a great team!

After shot: Can you believe this is the same hampster? This is our little Nibbs, we got him when we lived in Cedar city in April 2007. He is the cutest little guy. He loves carrots and playing at the park, yes we take our hampster to the park. He is really good at staying close, especially when the birds are around. He'll dig a litttle tunnel in the grass and just chill with us while we soak in the sun and read.

Before shot: We have a very unique hampster that grows wings, the hair only grows on the side. We let it get a bit out of control this winter.

Pretty sure I'm Quentin's favorite aunt. We get to spend every Thursday together. I just love that little guy so much. Little Wiggly (what we call our baby due in march) and Quentin sit and kick each other, I think they're fighting for my attention and I love it! I'm so lucky!

The New Year

Welcome to Candace and Shawn's Blog.

Well 2008 has officially ended and thus begins new adventures.
Shawn and I are settling here in Salt Lake City and looking forward to the arrival of our baby girl we expect to meet sometime the end of March (due March 28th)
Shawn and I are loving life! we enjoy living close to so many family and friends which has been such a blessing through the holidays.
We wish you all a very happy new year may 2009 bring love and happiness to all.
